Turnaround FAQs: how fast can you get an SMSF actuarial certificate?

Honest answers about turnaround times, weekend delivery, urgent jobs and what causes delays — so you can plan your SMSF lodgement with confidence.

Our target is to return standard SMSF ECPI certificates within four business hours after receiving complete and accurate information. Sometimes we can issue within an hour when capacity allows. These are not guaranteed deadlines; workload and fund complexity affect timing.

When does the target start?

When we have the complete, accurate information needed for the calculation. Missing pension dates, member movements or inconsistent balances can delay the start.

Need it urgently?

Urgent requests are subject to availability. Contact us to discuss your deadline before relying on same-day delivery.

What slows turnaround down?

  1. Missing pension start dates. Without dates we can't time-weight liabilities. See the document checklist.
  2. Inconsistent opening balances. If the prior-year closing doesn't match this year's opening, we have to reconcile before signing.
  3. Unclear segregation periods. A fund that flipped between segregated and unsegregated needs explicit dates.
  4. Unusual structures. Reversionary pensions, defined benefit interests, or DSFA edge cases require a quick email before we sign.

Are amendments included?

Yes — if your data changes after we issue the certificate (a missed contribution, a corrected pension payment), the reissue is free. We'd rather get it right than nickel-and-dime accountants on amendments.
